Programmed Energy & Resources are currently seeking Experienced Marine Maintenance Fitter's to join our team within one of our major clients in mining!


FIFO from Perth to Karratha
Roster: 2/1 | Dayshift Only | 12 hour Shifts

About the role:

Maintenance of Fixed Port Plant

  • Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, barge-loaders, and other rotating or material-handling plant.
  • Fault find, troubleshoot, disassemble and reassemble mechanical systems.
  • Work with lubrication / automated lubrication distribution systems.
  • Carry out maintenance in accordance with maintenance plans, shutdown schedules, and reliability strategies.

Marine / Vessel Maintenance

  • Conduct maintenance, inspections, and repairs on ocean-going vessels while berthed or moored at the port.
  • Work on rotating machinery / mechanical systems on vessels: pumps, hydraulics, engine ancillaries, etc.
  • Coordinate with marine operations, ship crew, and other port stakeholders (marine & operations teams).

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all site safety systems, procedures and standards.
  • Work in confined space and perform gas-atmosphere testing where required.
  • Work at heights as required for equipment maintenance / inspection.
  • Maintain and use high-risk work licences appropriately.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Use SAP or similar computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to log work orders, downtime, and parts usage.
  • Provide detailed fault reports, including root cause analysis where practicable.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the maintenance team, operations, marine crew and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with contractors / third-party service providers for specialized repairs or overhaul.

Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for compliance, audits, and performance measurement.
  • Contribute to maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Assist with spare parts / inventory management for mechanical and rotating components.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Marine maintenance fitter working on Crew boats, Near coastal tugboats and transshipping platforms.
  • Relevant Trade Qualification - Mechanical / Marine Fitter
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (MEM30222)
  • Certificate III in Marine Engine Technology, Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space & Gas Test Atmosphere
  • HRWL - DG, LF
  • MSIC or ability to obtain
  • C Class Driver License
  • Ability to work unsupervised on a variety of marine fleet
